Six months of knitting and I finally finished the vest, a birthday present that was already VERY late. The tardiness is in part because I couldn't read the pattern correctly, so if you plan on knitting this Verena zippered vest, pay close attention to the set-up rows for each of the three pieces. The pattern itself is really rather clever. The cables, when done *properly*, really do match up beautifully.Sadly for me, I'd finished knitting the three body pieces and was about to seam them together when I finally noticed my crucial mistake in the first rows,  which misaligned the whole lot of cables and forced me to rip back and nearly start over.  And while the pattern allows the zipper to be cleverly sandwiched inside knit facings, I managed to complicate things again by stretching out the bands while sewing it in, causing the rippling effect along the front that's visible in the photos.  Edit: I carefully unstitched the zipper and started over, and thankfully it was much better by the time it was packaged and sent to its recipient!

En mars, j'ai monté les mailles pour tricoter cette veste  pour l'anniversaire de mon neveu. Un patron génial. Non mais vraiment, les torsades s'alignent et la fermeture éclaire est cachée par une couche de 2x2 pliée et recousue sur elle-même avec un col doublé. Si seulement je n'avais pas terminé de tricoter les trois morceaux avant de me rendre compte que j'avais fait une erreur de lecture du patron au tout début et mes torsades ne s'alignaient pas une miette. Alors je les ai recommancé. Deux fois. Finalement, plus de cinq mois plus tard, je termine la couture de la fermeture éclaire à la main et constate qu'elle est trop longue, alors le devant est tout ondulé. Heureusement je l'ai recousue après avoir vue ces photos. Et après tout ça, mon pauvre neveu va recevoir une veste de laine en pleine chaleur du mois d'août!
