The Perks Of Photography

Environ deux semaines après avoir terminé la veste « Baby Surprise Jacket » pour le bébé d’une collègue, celle-ci est venu me rendre visite. Puisque sa visite était inattendue, je n’avais pas la veste au travail et j’étais navrée de ne pouvoir lui offrir tout de suite. Cependant, elle est entrée dans mon bureau avec un patron Sirdar à la main. Parait-il que sa mère lui avait tricoté ce patron lorsqu’elle-même était bébé, et elle aimerait bien habiller son poupon dans la même veste dès son arrivée. Habituellement je n’aime pas trop les commandes pour les tricots, surtout lorsque j’ai déjà un nombre d’items à tricoter à temps pour le temps des fêtes et les anniversaires importants. Mais c’est plutôt spécial tricoter un vêtement pour bébé identique à celui porté par sa maman il y a plus de 30 ans, non?

About two weeks after I’d finished the Baby Surprise Jacket, its recipient (or rather, its recipient lovely mother) came for a surprise visit to the office. I hadn’t brought the little cardi with me, and was just about to explain to her how I’d sadly left it at home when she took out a Sirdar pattern from her bag. Her mother had knit this very same little cardigan for her when she was a baby, and she really hoped that her firstborn could have one as well. How special to knit this little sweater for a second generation.

How on earth did I miss this while blocking?! It took an FO picture for me to notice the *complete* misalignment of the lace pattern. Thankfully it was nothing a little fiddling with button placement couldn't fix. Pattern here.

Incroyable que ça a prit une photo afin que je me rende compte que les panneaux de dentelle ne sont pas alignés! Heureusement que la solution se trouvait dans l’emplacement des boutons! Voici le patron.
