Each year I organize a bal for the students and faculty of the department I work for. Each year the theme remains the same, « La nuit en rose », and so pink coloured dresses and ties are both welcome and encouraged. This year I wore my brand new neon pink shawl, knit from Shui Kuen Kozinski's clever Moonlight Sonata Shawl pattern. Taking it for a spin during a night of dancing was a great test for the shawl's wing-shaped shoulders, which are supposed to increase the likelihood of it staying put. All in all, not bad!

Blocking was so essential to obtain the bubble shapes in the pattern. Before its bath, the shawl resembled little more than a hot pink rag with funny little knots all over.
I really treated myself to something special with the yarn – MadelineTosh Pashmina is even softer and squishier than I'd dreamed it would be! The colour, « Neon Rose », is just as bright and saturated as I'd hoped. Strangely, I only used a little over a ball of it for the shawl, whereas I'd bought two for the project. What to do with slightly less than a ball of this yarn, I wonder...

Wow! That is so stunning! And the color is so gorgeous and vibrant. I love Pashmina, it's a really lovely yarn. I made a Autumn Vines beret and the Oak Grove mitts from Never Not Knitting out of less than one skein. Although I don't know how you would feel about having that many pink accessories :)
